Astrid Lingren
Astrid Lindgren is a famous writer. She was born on November 14, 1907 on a farm called Nas outside of Vimmerby in Sweden. After going to school, she moved to Stockholm and married Sture Lingren. She had two children. She wrote her first story in 1944, it was called Britt-Mari Opens Her Heart, her second book, Pippi Longstocking, was published in 1945, she wrote it as a present for her daughter’s tenth birthday. She received the Raben and Sjogren’s Best Childrens’s Book prize for Pippi Longstocking and became a book editor for that publisher for many years. Her husband died on 1952. Children all over the world enjoy her books. The books are translated to a lot of languages.
